Hi, bonjour!

Because im not speking french, i’m gonna ask my question in english, I hope its ok! I have an old Meharis front space frame that i’m renovating. Should there be two of those pieces that I have circled from the photo, and like I’ve drawn there? I’ve seen two of those in new frames, but I’ve also seen some old Meharis with only one, like I have. Is it correct? I can’t see any signs that someone would have cut it off or anything like that.

I know that new frames have two of those, but is there some old model or some which have only one like I do?

Yes the old models only have one and in the case of a  restoration you must not use the one you have

Do not use this old frame because all the new bodywork elements and especially the basin does not fit on the old frames .

If you use this old frame you will have to cut in the plastic , cut the steel and redothe welds , ad iron plates , it’s a job that only an expert can do

Ok, thank you for the information, then its not a problem, because I have all the original plastic parts allready 🙂

If they are period pièces, it’s perfect . Good renovation .

My Mehari also has that frame and the original tub with the ‘hump’. Does anyone know what years used these early parts?

en francais (j’espere 😉 ) Mon Mehari a également ce cadre et la baignoire d’origine avec la « bosse ». Quelqu’un sait-il quelles années ont utilisé ces premières pièces?
